Summary of the contracting process

The Asbestos Framework tender, conducted by Efficiency East Midlands Limited (EEM), aims to establish a new framework to replace the existing one that expired on 25th April 2020. The procurement process is currently complete, and EEM supports a wide range of public sector organisations across the Midlands and beyond. The tender was published on 27th January 2020 and concluded on 13th March 2020. The framework will provide services related to asbestos surveys, analytical services, and asbestos removal, remediation, and disposal, regulated under The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The total value of the framework is estimated at £1,000,000, and the contract period runs from 4th May 2020 to 3rd May 2024.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the asbestos management and environmental services sector, particularly those accredited to UKAS standards. Companies specialising in asbestos surveys, analytical services, and removal operations should consider competing, especially if they are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). The framework's division into specific lots allows for businesses to focus their bids on regional or national service coverage, ensuring tailored responses to procurement needs.
