Bat Advice Service
Notice Description
Bats and their roosts are protected under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and Regulation 41 of the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017. The legislation places obligations on both individuals and public bodies that are aimed at ensuring that the conservation status of bats is maintained. The United Kingdom is party to a number of international treaties focused on conservation (Rio, Bern and Bonn Conventions). The service provides specialist advice. Additional information: - Please note that Defra procurement uses an E-tendering system for Procurement activities. This is currently provided by Bravo Solutions.
