Summary of the contracting process

Unite Procurement UK Limited is seeking 100 spare battery carriers for Detector Special Purpose (DSP) 27, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. This is a purchase of the battery carrier only, part number NSN 6160-99-667-2326, to maintain the availability of the in-service detector and prevent a capability gap. DSP 27 is a hand-carried detector; its battery carrier is one component of the unit. Delivery is in the United Kingdom. The equipment has no substitute, and the requirement is for the existing part rather than a new or alternative design. Unite Procurement UK Limited intends to onboard multiple suppliers to its procurement platform, rather than appoint a sole supplier, to support supply to the Ministry of Defence and associated organisations.

The buyer invited offers through a selective catalogue-purchase procedure. The stated submission deadline was 28 October 2026 at 15:00 UTC. The contract period is scheduled to run from 29 October 2026 to 28 October 2028. The estimated procurement value is £50,000 to £100,000. Suppliers are asked to register their interest and provide details of their product range, modification capabilities and maintenance services; the platform onboarding process follows expression of interest. The requirement is for a stock of 100 carriers, with an immediate purchase as the only output and a one-off payment on delivery. Each item will undergo a short inspection to confirm it is the correct part, with acceptance following successful inspection. SMEs and voluntary, community and social enterprises are marked as suitable.

This opportunity suits suppliers able to source or supply the specified existing DSP 27 battery carrier, NSN 6160-99-667-2326. The buyer is seeking a competitive supplier base on its procurement platform, with multiple suppliers potentially onboarded rather than a single appointed supplier. To express interest, businesses are asked to describe their product range, modification capabilities and maintenance services. The requirement is for the correct in-service spare part; delivery items will be inspected for conformity before acceptance. The stated quantity is a stock of 100, and the purchase is immediate rather than ongoing contract management. The OEM owns the intellectual property rights and technical data pack, and the buyer says a pre-existing OEM-developed option is considered appropriate. Suppliers should therefore assess whether they can supply the specified part and meet the product information requested for platform onboarding.

Final Reminders This item already exists and is in-service. NSN 6160-99-667-2326. How to Apply Interested suppliers should register their interest by contacting Unite Procurement UK Limited and provide details of their product range, modification capabilities, and maintenance services. Further information on the onboarding process for the Unite Procurement Platform will be provided upon expression of interest. The Unite Procurement Platform (Unite | Simplify indirect procurement with our smarter platform) offers a compliant route to market for UK Public Sector organisations to manage low-value, high-volume procurement. Unite Procurement UK Limited does not intend to appoint a sole supplier for this requirement. Instead, multiple suppliers may be onboarded to the Unite Procurement Platform to ensure a diverse and competitive supply base, supporting flexibility and choice for the Ministry of Defence and associated organisations. Suppliers are encouraged to express their interest by the stated closing date to ensure early consideration. However, applications to join the Unite Procurement Platform will be welcome at any time beyond the initial deadline. Unite Procurement UK Limited reserves the right to review and onboard new suppliers on a rolling basis to meet evolving requirements and to maintain a dynamic and responsive supplier network.
