Summary of the contracting process

Highways England is seeking support for its "Operations East Survey Programme" through a tender process that has reached the award stage. This procurement, classified under research and development services, has a total contract value of £210,397.11 and encompasses service delivery from 1 June 2021 to 31 March 2022. The tender period concluded on 12 January 2021, with Mott Macdonald being awarded the contract on 13 January 2021. This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) engaged in consultancy and management services related to traffic and construction surveys. Businesses adept in liaising with various stakeholders, managing survey logistics, and complying with health and safety regulations like CDM 2015 would be particularly well-positioned to compete. The experience in environmental assessments and the ability to ensure adherence to COVID-19 guidelines would also be advantageous in this procurement framework.
