Summary of the contracting process

The Victoria and Albert Museum is currently conducting a tender process for the "V&A East Collection and Research Centre Design," located in London, within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This project seeks to procure architectural design services, particularly a creative and analytical architect or team, through a selective procurement method (restricted procedure). The tender period has been set to conclude on 21 February 2018, with the contract expected to commence on 21 May 2018 and last until 20 May 2021. The main procurement category falls under services, specifically classified as architectural design services according to the CPV classification.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses focused on architectural services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs). Firms with expertise in creative and analytical architectural design would be ideal candidates to compete for this prestigious project. As the V&A aims to expand its reach and impact through this initiative, businesses that can demonstrate innovative design solutions aligned with the museum's vision would stand to benefit substantially from involvement in this cultural landmark project.

Notice Title

V&A East Collection and Research Centre Design

Notice Description

The V&A is seeking to procure a creative, analytical architect(s) to respond to our challenging brief to create a new Collection and Research Centre at Here East in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. Under the umbrella of V&A East, the V&A is creating two ambitious new public sites; one is a dynamic museum at Stratford Waterfront and the other a major centre for collection, research and learning at Here East (within the former Olympic Broadcasting Centre), both part of the Cultural and Educational District (CED) in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. V&A East will be a place for discovery, learning, research, production and display, which will significantly expand the museum's reach and impact. It will enable open and enhanced access to the V&A's collection, and together with new research, and public programmes, we will shape the designers, makers, thinkers and curators of the future.
