Notice Description

Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) is guided by a vision to make Wokingham a thriving place to live, learn, work, and grow, the council focuses on enriching lives, building safe and strong communities, and ensuring efficient governance. WBC has a statutory duty to provide Short Breaks support to children, young people aged 0-18rs with disabilities and their families within the Borough, under the Children Act 1989. The general duty to provide parent carers of disabled children with 'breaks from caring' was enacted by Children & Young People Act 2008, section 25. Further detail was added through the Breaks for Carers of Disabled Children Regulations 2011 including regulations covering the 'Duty to make provision'; and 'Types of services which must be provided. We are planning to hold individual organisation virtual market engagement sessions between Monday 13th January 2025 and Friday 17th January 2025.
