Notice Title

BEIS Local Area Advice for Home Energy Retrofit

Notice Description

*Please note this is not a call for competition, this is a PIN notice for a BEIS requirement. * Project summary Government has made commitments to provide consumers with more access to home energy retrofit advice in both the Net Zero Strategy and the British Energy Security Strategy. This includes launching an energy advice service on GOV.UK as well as additional support for homeowners through telephone support and a number of local area advice projects for energy consumers. The aim is to provide impartial advice and information to help consumers navigate what can be unknown territory to improve the energy performance of their home. The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) wishes to gather evidence and advice on what proposed local area advice projects should look like. This advice service is intended to target homeowners and landlords with hard to treat homes, in hard to reach areas. The aim is to provide these parts of the market with advice and information on how they can improve the energy performance of their properties. For this market engagement, we would like to concentrate on the local area advice element only. We will deliver a short presentation on our current plans and policy direction. We would then like to invite the market to share their thoughts on the following: * An idea of what you believe a local area energy advice project would look. o What delivery methods they use currently. What is and isn't useful? o If you were to bid to run a local area project, would you continue to run methods you already use but upscale that to extend the reach. Or, would you look to explore new ways to deliver advice and, if so, what do those ideas look like. o What target groups do you believe you can reach? o How do you track the impact your current advice is having? What impacts do you track? o Do you have a fully mapped customer journey with known/potential exit points? o Do you currently have the capacity to supply the advice or would you need to bring additional staff in to deliver, if so, would this be time consuming? Does additional FTE equate to additional reach and/or scope? o Presence in certain regions - where are you based and what relationships with other organisations do you have? o How do you go about targeting and engaging consumers and why do you choose that approach? This information will help us to set the criteria for the local area projects. Organisations wishing to attend need to RSVP to HECAReport@beis.gov.uk by 23:59 on 23/06/2022 stating their name, company and email with the subject line: 'Consumer Advice and Information Market Engagement Session'. Additional information: We would like to invite organisations to attend a pre-market engagement session on 28/06/2022 via MS Teams. This session will provide an opportunity for the market to find out more about the aims of the project. The session will last 1 hour and 30 minutes and the agenda for the session is as follows: * Presentation setting the scene & policy goals (15 mins) * Discussion on topics highlighted in the description section (1 hour) * Next steps and timeline (15 mins) Organisations wishing to attend need to RSVP to HECAReport@beis.gov.uk by 23:59 on 23/06/2022 stating their name, company and email with the subject line: 'Consumer Advice and Information Market Engagement Session'. We have not yet decided the route to market for this project. Please note: the notice will conclude 23/06/2022
