Invitations of Applications - PAVA spray testing for Home Office Certification
Notice Description
Through this Request for Information (RFI) the Authority is inviting applications for PAVA spray devices to be assessed and tested by Home Office in order to gain Home Office certification in line with Home Office Standard for Police Chemical Irritant Sprays: PAVA Publication Number: 23/14 (latest standard version 2, October 2024) herein referred to as 'the standard'. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/674f300734a339921747d02b/Home+Office+Standard+for+Police+Chemical+Irritants+-+PAVA+-+Publication+Number+23_14+-+v2+October+2024.pdf This Request for Information is intended for the Authority to gain applications for triage as detailed in stage 1 of the Home Office Certification for Police Chemical Irritant Sprays: PAVA Process and Guidance Document (latest standard version 1, October 2024) herein referred to as 'the guidance document' https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/674f306b26364a399a991afc/Home+Office+Certification+for+Police+Chemical+Irritants+-+PAVA+-+Process+and+Guidance+Document+v1+October+2024.pdf The Organisation, business or company which is completing this RFI must declare their intent to enter the Home Office certification process, either for a new PAVA spray device, modification(s) made to an already certified device or for the 5 yearly Manufacturing Quality Testing (MQT). The application should describe the device entering the certification process and requirement for the device to be certified. All requested information required as part of the application is outlined in the questions within in this RFI. This will include providing Technical File, Part A General application information requirements (as outlined within Appendix A of the Standard), confirmation that devices are final products and ready to test, confirmation applicant would be ready to submit Part B: Technical File Detail Requirements to the authority should the triage of their application be successful to procced and an applicant declaration. No information contained in this RFI, or in any communication made between the Authority and Organisation, business or company in connection with this RFI, shall be relied upon as constituting a contract, agreement, or representation that any procurement or contract may result from this RFI. Under no circumstances shall the Authority incur any liability in respect of this RFI or any supporting documentation. The Authority will not reimburse any costs incurred by applicants in connection with preparation and submission of their responses to this RFI. Applicants are not guaranteed that their application will be progressed for technical file review and testing for certification. Additional information: This notice directs interested potential suppliers to the Home Office's Jaggaer eSourcing portal, where a Request for Information (RFI) document can be downloaded. Once completed, the RFI can then be submitted via the Jaggaer eSourcing portal. Data or information provided outside of this portal will not be reviewed.
