Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "Lancashire Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS)" is being conducted by the North of England Commissioning Support, responsible for the provision of local GP practice services in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area. As of the planning stage, the relevant CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups) are reviewing several practices across multiple locations including Buckshaw Village, Blackpool, and Blackburn. The engagement end date is set for 23 February 2018, and interested parties may express their interest and participate in this project through the In-Tend e-Tendering portal. The anticipated contract lengths are ten years with an extension option of five years, subject to evaluation.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those in the healthcare and social work sector, to engage in the provision of essential medical services within the region. Organisations specialising in alternative provider medical services would be particularly desirable contenders, given the focus on enhancing local GP practice services. Furthermore, the emphasis on social value under the Public Services (Social Value) Act indicates a preference for proposals that will benefit the economic, social, and environmental well-being of the community, thus appealing to companies that align their business strategies with social impact initiatives.
