Chevening is the UK government's international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations, Chevening offers two types of awards - Scholarships and Fellowships. The scholarships are for one year Master's in any subject at a recognised UK University. The fellowships offer specifically designed courses aimed at mid-to-senior level professionals who are looking to expand their knowledge and expertise in their specific field of work. The programmes are tailored short courses which run for approximately 8 weeks at a designated UK university. This course will be To expose Africa's future leaders to the UK's top opinion formers and decision-makers within Government, media, politics, industry and civil society and to enable them to build a network of UK based contacts.To develop the capacity of mid-senior level African media figures in the fields of media ethics, regulation and open government to enable them to be ambassadors for a free media in their home countries.
