Provision of Modifications to an Olympus BX41 Microscope

Notice Description

Public Health England (PHE) requires the provision of modifications to an Olympus BX41 Microscope. Due to the nature of the work, any proposed modifications must be able to fulfil the following requirements: - Have a manual upright microscope frame, which allows for the observation of images using reflected and transmitted light. - Have coaxial coarse and fine focusing using a stage 'up and down' mechanism. - Have a minimum focus stroke of 25 mm - Have a minimum coarse stroke of 15 mm/rotation - Have a minimum fine stroke of 100 um/rotation - Have a minimum graduation on fine focus of 1 um - Have a True colour LED light source compatible with the microscope frame, with an intensity comparable to a 30W halogen light source. - Have a manual universal reflected light illuminator for fluorescence and reflected brightfield imaging. - Have an 8-position cube turret with a shutter function. - Have a manual shutter for left- and right hand operation. - Have three slots for optical inserts - Have a colour camera compatible with the Olympus BX41 Microscope, capable of fluorescence imaging and producing images with at least 1800 x 1100-pixels, at a frame rate of no less than 50 frames per second. - Have a 0.63X C-mount adaptor If you feel that you can meet the above requirements, please email Anna.Gibson@phe.gov.uk and kallie.rivers@phe.gov.uk.
