Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "RWM Investment Programme" is organised by Radioactive Waste Management Limited, which is responsible for delivering a geological disposal facility for higher-level radioactive waste in the UK. Currently at the planning stage, the procurement initiative aims to engage suppliers through a supplier event scheduled for 28th November 2019 at Radisson Blue Edwardian, London. This event will provide potential suppliers with insights into the funding opportunities, with up to £1 million available annually for community investment initiatives aimed at economic, environmental, and social enhancement.

This tender presents significant opportunities for companies focused on administration services and community development. Businesses that specialise in grants administration and have experience in managing funding cycles are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Engaging with Radioactive Waste Management Limited through the upcoming supplier event will allow interested parties to better understand the contractual requirements and establish partnerships beneficial for community projects over the next five years.

Notice Title

RWM Investment Programme

Notice Description

Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is responsible for planning and delivering a geological disposal facility for higher level radioactive waste in the UK. It is one of the most important environmental projects of our generation and will be the first community consent-based process for a major infrastructure project in the UK. As part of the programme we will be able to provide grant funding of up to PS1m per year in communities that forms a partnership with us. The funding can be invested in projects which: promote economic development, job and skills; improve the environment and cultural heritage; or enhance local wellbeing. RWM will work in partnership to meet the needs of the communities which consent to work with us. RWM is seeking to appoint an experienced service provider to partner with us. The provider will undertake grants administration services in relation to this funding across the full grant life cycle. We anticipate distributing around PS15m over the next 5 years across England and Wales. To help us implement this community investment in an effective, open and transparent manner we are hosting a supplier event to enable potential suppliers to learn more about the process and for us at RWM to understand your needs, should you wish to tender. The supplier event will be held at the Radisson Blue Edwardian, Hampshire, 31-36 Leicester Square, London, WC2H 7LH. 11am - 1pm. 28th November 2019. For more information on the geological disposal programme see https://geologicaldisposal.campaign.gov.uk . Please reply to tony.potts@nda.gov.uk to receive our specification and supporting documentation (sent in strictest confidence), and confirm your attendance.
