Notice Title

Cambridgeshire County Council - opportunity for Care Home providers to extend/offer capacity in East Cambridgeshire, South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire

Notice Description

Cambridgeshire is currently facing an increasing challenge to meet the current and future needs of its expanding population of older people. We have identified that there is currently a 150 shortfall of Council commissioned beds in the market place which will be met by the three work streams as outlined below. 1. Maximise capacity for Council provision through the extended use of block contracts; 2. Commissioning arrangements with providers to extend capacity in Cambridgeshire; 3. Delivery model to develop additional residential and nursing beds within new residential and nursing home provision within Cambridgeshire. This opportunity is with regards to work stream 2 where the Council is interested in hearing from Care Home providers who are interested in, or have plans to increase capacity or offer any capacity in East Cambridgeshire, South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for expressions of interest from providers to inform our commissioning and procurement strategy. This would suit providers of existing care homes who are interested in/planning on carrying out an extension to these to increase capacity in Huntingdonshire, East and South Cambridgeshire. This would also suit providers who we do not currently commission from but have existing capacity in the areas that have been highlighted. To express an interest please complete the questionnaire attached and return to adam.thorp@cambridgeshire.gov.uk by 4th December 2018. Additional information: This market testing exercise is not an invitation to tender or a request for formal expressions of interest. This document does not form any part of an invitation to tender. Cambridgeshire County Council is issuing this request for information only. Any supplier invited to present to the Council is doing so to support market research only and to help make any potential procurement process more focused and efficient. No supplier selection or supplier preference is implied.
