Summary of the contracting process

The Oxfordshire County Council has awarded a £4,500,000 contract for the provision of E-Scooter services starting on 1st June 2023. The contract, which falls under the services category, was awarded to Voi Technology UK Limited. The tender process was completed on 15th February 2023, and the contract will run until 31st May 2024, with a possible extension for 24 months. The Council aims to continue an existing e-scooter trial in Oxford city, which has seen significant usage since February 2020.

This opportunity may interest businesses in the e-scooter industry looking to provide services in the UK. The procurement process was undertaken through an open procedure, providing a fair chance for different businesses to compete. However, the contract was not specified as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which may influence the type of businesses able to compete effectively. Understanding the competitive landscape and meeting the Council's service requirements will be key to succeeding in this tender.
