Notice Description

Health Education England (HEE) support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patient and public of England by ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, value and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place. HEE requirement aligns with our core proprieties of ensuring value for money and building commercial, capability across the public sector. HEE was initially established as a Special Health Authority in June 2012, talking on some functions from October 2012 before assuming full operational responsibilities from April 2013. As a result of the care Act 2014, The Authority became a Non-Departmental Public body on 1 April 2015. The Authority comprises of over 2500 staff split across 34 sites. The national teams which have responsibility for the management and delivery of national initiatives and projects are based at a number of sites across the country Our local teams are responsible for the training and education of NHS staff, both clinical and non-clinical, within their area. Our local offices work within four regions comprising of the following: North Region - North east Local office, North West local office, Yorkshire and Humber Local clinical, within their area. Midlands Region - West Midlands Local; office, East Midlands Local office, East of England Local office. HEE has five national functions: a) Providing national leadership on planning and developing the healthcare and public health workforce. b) Promoting high quality education and training that is responsive to the changing needs of patients and local communities, including responsibility for ensuring the effective delivery of important national functions such as medical trainee recruitment c) Ensuring of supply of the health and public health workforce d) Appointing and supporting the development of LETBs and e) Allocating and accounting for NHS education and training resources and the outcome achieved Key results for the specialty training recruitment campaign in 2016 were: * 1,240,293 visitors to the GPNRO website nothing general campaign page * 1725 Facebook community page 'likes' * 1,240,293 impressions of Facebook adverts (carousels, video and promoted posts) HEE strategy acknowledges that to continue to develop quality clinical services and maintain a strong financial standing, it will require the organisation to look more innovatively at how it delivers efficiencies in the future. Services are therefore underway to support this goal focussing on areas such as increase the number of medical trainees who select GP as their career choice during specialty training recruitment.
