Summary of the contracting process

Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) is currently in the tendering stage for its Highways Services Contracts, with a deadline for submissions set for 8th November 2021. This procurement process, classified under road construction works, primarily targets services related to the maintenance and operation of the city's extensive highway and street infrastructure, which spans 624 km of roads and includes lighting units, footways, and traffic management systems. The contract will be divided into three specific lots under an overarching NEC4 Framework, and details can be found in the opportunity notice published on 4th November 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in highway construction and maintenance, particularly those capable of delivering medium value works and ensuring compliance with highway safety standards. Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply, especially those with experience in small-scale infrastructure projects, maintenance operations, and street lining works, which are essential for supporting Brighton and Hove's revenue from parking enforcement activities. Companies should consider collaborating or forming partnerships to strengthen their bids for the various contract lots.
