Notice Description

The Authority is currently looking to procure the following. 1. Indication of a submarine (SM) emergency or distress (DISSUB) via a red signal flare - Red Signal. - The user requires the capability for a dived SM to indicate a DISSUB situation via red flare for the duration of no less than 45 secs. 2. Marking of SM position for Fishing Vessel Avoidance or for tactical exercise - Coloured smoke White/Yellow. - The user requires the capability to launch a store capable of carrying a message for escape purposes - The user requires the capability to mark SM position via white or yellow smoke for up to 5 mins duration. - The user requires the capability to mark SM position in all visibility day or night surfaced or dived. - The user requires the capability to mark SM position via smoke. - The user requires that the smoke store is capable of being detected in low visibility 3. Indication of a SM attack on a surface vessel or vessels for training scenarios - Green Signal. - The user requires the capability to indicate a simulated attack to a surface vessel via the discharge of a green flare 4. The user requires the DISSUB capability of the pyrotechnics to be at least as good as those provided by International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974. 5. Complies with (not limited to): i) STANAG 4497 ii) REACH Compliant 6. All Up Round is required and must be compatible with the current Submerged Signal Ejectors. Please note the Authority is currently just looking to understand the number of companies who can deliver the above stores. There is no requirement for you to provide any further information about your capabilities, although the Authority may contact you in the future to seek specific information.
