Notice Description

NHS Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is considering its future Commissioning Strategy for the Provision of LEVEL 3 Consultant-Led Community Dermatology Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service CATS. The service will form part of an integrated Dermatology service across primary and secondary care for the population of Hillingdon. This will entail working closely with GPs, Acute Specialist Service Departments (Level 4) and specialist skin cancer services. There will also be a need to develop links with the local skin cancer multidisciplinary team, RM Partners, and other secondary care specialities such as plastic surgery and Level 4 secondary care dermatology services. The service will be pivotal to the achievement of reduced secondary care waiting times by: * Offering a responsive and effective community based service * Improving skills for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions within Primary Care * Supporting and improve self-management of skin conditions by patients * Use of new technology, to improve the quality and efficiency of the existing pathways and provide the best experience possible for patients within available resources The service will have three main domains of responsibility: * Triaging, assessing and management of patients with dermatological conditions meeting the Tier 3 inclusion criteria * Treatment * Support and education to primary care professionals The service will benefit patients by delivering a more efficient and effective care pathway. The provision of community settings will support the reduction in demand for secondary care - therefore reducing secondary care demand and releasing capacity to allow secondary care to deal with patients with more complex and urgent needs. Additional information: Should the CCG opt to proceed with a competitive procurement process for the delivery of this service, it is anticipated that a contract will be awarded for 3 years to the appointed provider with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years at their discretion. The expected service commencement date is anticipated to be July 2018. The annual value of the contract is estimated at PS500,000 per year, the total contract value over 5 years is estimated at PS2,500,000. ***INTERESTED PARTIES ARE ASKED TO EXPRESS THEIR INTEREST IN THE OPPORTUNITY BY COMPLETING AND RETURNING THE ATTACHED PRE-EVENT QUESTIONNAIRE TO: tom_baker@nhs.net REFERENCING 'HILLINGDON COMMUNITY DERMATOLOGY' IN THE TITLE. THE DEADLINE FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST IS 17.00 ON TUESDAY 22ND AUGUST 2017***. The CCG anticipates publishing a Contract Notice to commence procurement during December 2017. The submission of an expression of interest is not a prerequisite to any subsequent procurement application; however the response to this market engagement advert will help to inform the CCG's commissioning approach, including whether a competitive process will be appropriate, i.e. a lack of expressions of interest may be used to evidence the appropriateness to award a contract direct without a competition.
