Notice Description

SCOPE OF WORK: The western end of the North boundary wall exhibits a long term outward lean toward the private garden of 21 College Street. Additional to the lean the outer face has a substantial bulge over a length of approximately 8.0m from the rear corner of the garden. The scope of works will involve carefully dismantling the affected section of the wall and raking back at a suitable angle into the sound masonry either side and re-construct the new section of walling off a new foundation. The wall capping to both reconstructed and retained lengths of wall need to be addressed to improve its ability to shed rainwater and prevent intrusive plant growth. The wall should be propped prior to works commencing to ensure the health and safety of the operatives undertaking the dismantling. Prior to any dismantling the height, thickness and any features should be recorded. This recording process should continue as the wall is taken down. The necessary SMC/ Listed Building Consents should also be obtained prior to any work commencing.
