Summary of the contracting process

The Wigan Council is currently seeking bids for the "Wellbeing and Resilience Service," a public procurement opportunity valued at £3,000,000. This tender falls under the health and social work services category and aims to provide essential support services to vulnerable adults, specifically targeting mental health and autism support in the North West region of England. The tender period ends on 18th January 2019, and contracts are expected to commence from 1st July 2019, continuing until 30th June 2024. The procurement method used is an open procedure, which is conducive to encouraging wide participation.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in health and social care services, particularly those focused on mental health and autism support. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, as the buying organisation encourages participation from these types of businesses. Engaging in this tender could enhance service offerings and allow firms to contribute to vital community support mechanisms while fostering growth within the local market.

Notice Title

229 - Wellbeing and Resilience Service

Notice Description

Wellbeing and Resilience Service Lot 1 - Wellbeing and Resilience Service The service outlined in this specification will build upon the existing offer of floating support services and housing related support and provide short term outcome focussed services to vulnerable adults. Lot 2 - Mental Health and Autism As with mental health the need to support adults with autism remains a high priority in Wigan. Support services currently offered are limited and mainly focus on autistic adults with eligible needs. Late diagnosis often means that throughout a proportion of adulthood, adults remain undiagnosed and unsupported. A revised autism strategy encompasses the need to improve access to diagnosis and post diagnostic support, ensure services reflect local need, improved access to public services and that reasonable adjustments have been made and to encourage adults with autism to actively participate in community activity.
