Notice Title

MSK (Inc. Physiotherapy) Service Redesign - Eastern Cheshire

Notice Description

This is a 2 part procurement with Lot 1 being: A clinical triage function to be the single point of contact and will ensure that patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician first time, depending on clinical need. The aims of the service are to: * Offer a flexible and responsive service * Maximise integration in a way that provides best practice care of a high quality, delivering excellent patient experience, avoids duplication (e.g. multiple assessments) and achieves good clinical outcomes * Reduce waiting times * Increase access for patients by developing self-referral pathways * Provide value for money * Reduce any inappropriate referrals to outpatients in orthopaedics, rheumatology and pain management by supporting, enabling and facilitating providers to highlight and educate referrers * Support all providers to ensure standardised access and quality of service and outcomes for patients/users. * Develop a service that dovetails with and compliments existing local services * Promote self-management with information and advice given at the point of access Lot 2 will be an Any Qualified Provider model allowing for a number of providers to treat patients with a range of MSK and Orthopaedic conditions affecting their neck; spine and lower back; and upper and lower limbs; including their feet. This will serve as an alternative to hospital based treatment for the majority of patients referred for a MSK condition. Patients will be referred to consultants in secondary care only when there is a need for these hospital based specialist services. The Provider(s) will ensure that every patient is formally assessed by appropriately qualified, trained and competent healthcare professionals using appropriate diagnostic methodology. Service quality will improve through more effective and speedier diagnosis, leading to a higher standard of clinical treatment and improved outcomes. The service will be predominantly delivered by Allied Health Professionals, supported by Consultants and other specialists.
