Summary of the contracting process

NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking providers for the Anticoagulation Warfarin Monitoring and Management Service, covering practices in Yorkshire and the Humber, specifically East Parade Medical Practice, Beech Tree Surgery, Escrick Surgery, Sherburn Group Practice, and Tadcaster Medical Centre. This open procurement is currently in the award stage, having started on 1 January 2019 and scheduled to end on 31 March 2022. Interested suppliers should note that the contract value is approximately £577,416 and there was a deadline for tender submissions of 28 September 2018.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for healthcare service providers, particularly those specialising in anticoagulation therapy, to expand their offerings in community settings. Businesses equipped to handle safe and effective management of warfarin therapy, including necessary software and testing infrastructure, would be well-suited to respond. The shift from secondary to community care indicates a growing demand for primary care services in this area, allowing potential bidders to tap into a patient base of around 4,000 individuals currently receiving anticoagulation management.
