Notice Description

Scope of the Contract We require a primary care subject matter expert (2 days per week for 6 months followed by 1 day a week for 18 months), to support the development or resources and strategies to embed genomics within the primary care workforce. The maximum value of the contract is PS40,000.00 excluding VAT. Detailed Requirements During the course of the contract the supplier will be required to: 1. Act as the point of contact for primary care, liaising with the GEP and key stakeholders within HEE, NHSE/I, Royal Colleges and wider. 2. Provide subject matter expertise to the GEP & NHSE/I, representing the views of the primary care workforce across different sectors. 3. Work with members of the GEP to develop resources relevant for the primary care workforce. 4. Support the GMS Alliances with primary care transformation activity including taking a lead role in the education and training strategy for familial hypercholesterolemia for the national FH project. 5. Chair and manage the continuation of the Primary Care Special Interest Group (SIG) providing a mechanism for shared good practice and experiences to influence service development. 6. Work with the GEP to develop a Primary Care Genomic advisor role aligned to the framework project, and plan implementation at local, regional and national level in primary care settings. 7. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Genomic Advisor competency framework. 8. Support the training of future GPs, ensuring the Genomics Medicine curriculum topic guide is fit for purpose, contributing to the rolling review of the RCGP curriculum and toolkit. 9. Work with pharmacy leads in the GEP, NHSE/I and RCP to ensure primary care and community pharmacists are covered in genomics education and training provision. 10. Represent the GEP at relevant meetings. 11. Produce interim reports with updates, progress and outputs.
