Summary of the contracting process

The British Museum is initiating a tender process for the establishment of a non-exclusive Framework Agreement for the provision of Collection Storage Furniture, with an estimated value of £4,500,000. This procurement falls under the "warehouse stores construction work" category and is located in the South East of the United Kingdom. The tender period ends on 25 September 2020, with the contract itself scheduled to commence on 4 January 2021 and run until 3 January 2025. This open procedure aims to appoint Contractors to supply comprehensive services including design, manufacture, installation, and initial maintenance support for collection storage facilities.

This opportunity is particularly suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in construction and furniture provision, as it requires a full end-to-end service for a significant project at the British Museum. Businesses capable of delivering high-quality, tailored solutions for storage needs in large institutions will find this tender advantageous for growth. As the framework will be the primary procurement route over the next four years, successful bidders may benefit from ongoing contracts and a strong partnership with a prestigious cultural institution.
