Notice Description

Worcestershire Children First is looking to commission the provision of services for children and young people who undertake a caring role for a family member who are aged 18 and under (young carers) to avoid and reduce inappropriate levels of caring and adverse impact on positive outcomes for children and young people. This will also include those 19-24 (Young Adult Carers) to manage their caring responsibilities during the transition period from childhood to adulthood while also receiving information and support that enables them to enjoy a life of their own. All relevant services are expected to identify when a young person, in a whole family context, is undertaking a caring role, to recognise their needs and to enable access to support. Young carers or young adult carers must be enabled to receive health and family support services they need through, whenever possible, a single point of contact using the established early help pathways.
