Notice Information
Notice Title
SOL - Adults 25+ Housing Advice and Outreach Service
Notice Description
It is a priority of Solihull's Homelessness Strategy to prevent homelessness, offer timely housing advice and identify those at risk as early as possible. As a result no-one should have to resort to sleeping rough before help and support is provided. Local Authorities are required to have services in place to address the needs of rough sleepers in their areas and this should be in line with the Government's policy commitment 'No Second Night Out (NSNO)' included in the DCLG publication 'Vision to End Rough Sleeping' (2011). The Homelessness Reduction Bill (before Parliament) also proposes the introduction of additional statutory duties on council's to prevent and relieve homelessness for all eligible households in their areas. It is in the context of these local and national policy commitments and the outcomes delivered through the current service that the Council wishes to commission a service provider to continue to provide a specialist housing advice and assistance service to vulnerable adults. This will include the provision of flexible, bespoke and outcome-focused advice and outreach service to support vulnerable adults to access and maintain suitable accommodation, promote healthier lifestyle choices and enable them to engage in and seek support with their often complex issues. The provider will work with new rough sleepers, returning rough sleepers and entrenched rough sleepers (definitions set out under section 2) and adults aged 25+ who are homeless / threatened with homelessness and have 1 other support need. Additional information: Is a Recurrent Procurement Type? : No
