Notice Description

Award of contract for the provision of Six Modular Low-Footprint Moveable Wind Tunnels for Teaching Purposes. **Please Note** This requirement has already been fulfilled therefore this notice is published for transparency purposes. The University of Southampton is seeking to procure six modular low-footprint moveable wind tunnels for teaching purposes. The main use of the wind tunnels will be to teach Fluid Mechanic principles and expose students to different experimental techniques: * Laminar/turbulent boundary layer measurements; * Force and surface and wake pressure measurement on a cylinder. Each wind tunnels will have the following key attributes: * Quick setup, change-over, and removal time; * Modular design that allows easy switch-over between experiments; * Smallest floor space usage possible; * Easy access to all parts of the wind tunnel during use. We invite tenders from vendors who are able to provide the full life-cycle expertise. In the future we expect to extend the experiment suite to support different teaching labs.
