Summary of the contracting process

The West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority has initiated a tender process titled "Invitation to Tender Framework Agreement for Supply and Delivery of Emergency Response Equipment and Associated Services." This procurement, classified under the firefighting, rescue, and safety equipment industry, is being carried out according to the open procedure defined by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The tender period ended on 10 May 2021, with the contract scheduled to commence on 2 August 2021 and conclude on 1 August 2025. The total estimated contract value is £45,200,000, covering various lots for emergency response equipment, including rescue equipment and thermal imaging cameras, for participating Fire and Rescue Authorities across the UK and its territories.

This framework agreement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in emergency response equipment and related services, particularly those holding or willing to obtain insurance cover for public liability and product liability. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, as the procurement is designed to be inclusive. Companies that can meet the specified criteria and provide innovative products in the firefighting sector will find this an excellent avenue for growth, given the critical nature of the services and equipment required by fire and rescue services across the UK.
