Our vision for the North Shore Scheme is that of a net zero carbon development. The main objectives of the commission in this brief are to: 1. Provide high level strategic advice to guide the North Shore development towards a zero net carbon scheme 2. To do this without compromising the commercial benefits of the development and ideally, enhancing them 3. Develop a strategy to minimise energy use and maximise low carbon energy generation and storage across the site - to minimise grid power as much as possible, eg, through a smart micro grid / district heat approach 4. To identify potential commercial opportunities for the sale of surplus power and/or heat to surrounding buildings, public sector organisations and businesses
