Notice Description

Runnymede Borough Council is seeking to appoint consultants, to produce a Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) in accordance with a methodology approved by Sport England. The PPS will form part of the evidence base and inform the new Local Plan for Runnymede Borough Council. The strategy will set out the strategic approach to playing pitch provision in the borough of Runnymede and identify principles to inform how future resources should be targeted. This will provide a baseline for current and future supply and demand assessments for each of the sports being considered, and also set out a strategy towards playing pitch provision in the Borough in the short; medium; and long term, with clear sport; area; and site specific recommendations and prioritised action plan. The sports to be considered by the appointed consultant will need to include football, rugby union, cricket, lacrosse, hockey and bowls. The PPS must be produced in accordance with Sport England's 'Playing Pitch Strategy Guidance' methodology. The appointed consultant will be required to comply with any new or emerging national guidance and any changes to Sport England's methodology published during the course of the commission and to fully explain the methodology used within the report produced.
