Notice Title

Milton Keynes Council Car Club Market enagagement

Notice Description

Milton Keynes is seeking a suitable operator to partner with to deliver a borough wide car club scheme that will allow individuals and businesses to have access to a personal vehicle without being tied to ownership. About us Milton Keynes is an ambitious town with a population of over 250,000. We expect for this number to double by 2050 and at the same time we have ambitious plans to becoming carbon neutral town by 2030. These plans are reflected in our latest Local Transport Plan, Mobility Strategy 2018 and Transport Infrastructure Delivery Plan. To summarise, some of our Mobility objectives are to Maximise Travel Choices and Protect the Environment and therefore we would warmly welcome an operator that shares our vision to operate a car club scheme. Open day Milton Keynes Council would like to invite you to a market engagement day. During the event you will get to hear about Milton Keynes' Transport Strategy and find out about our latest Innovative projects, which include inductive EV charging as part of an experimental car club scheme. You will have an opportunity to understand where we believe a car club scheme would fit and what our ambitions are. We would like to have a discussion with market experts to understand which car club model would fit best in Milton Keynes. Some of the key features of a future car club that are important to us are: * Willingness to cooperate with existing shared and sustainable mobility providers including an already committed small scale demonstration car club scheme (4 electric cars, inductive charging), bike share and public transport operators. * Supporting us to make non private car trips as convenient as possible by concentrating on shared mobility solutions via "Mobility Hubs" * Sharing our carbon neutral vision and be committed to have a low emission fleet as part of the scheme. Milton Keynes is a home for over 400 charging points and has a strong partnership with EV charging point provider Chargemaster. * Social Inclusion - as a council we have to ensure equality and social inclusion is incorporated in everything we do. Some areas of Milton Keynes are more affluent than others. We would like to ensure that our car club scheme provides opportunities to all. We welcome all operators to a presentation, and question and answer session for this opportunity on Friday 7th February at 10am in Central Milton Keynes.
