Notice Information
Notice Title
Provision of West Midlands Data Store
Notice Description
The WMCA (West Midlands Combined Authority) is seeking to commission consultancy support to develop the evidence base for the strategic need for better regional data infrastructure, and options for the development of a regional data store facility. This work should adopt an approach which builds on the current capacity and capability in the region. A key output identified by the WM Digital Roadmap is the development of a proposal for a West Midlands Datastore. This recognises that whilst there are pockets of excellence and expertise in the region on data, there is limited connectivity between organisations and individual datasets, thereby reducing their value in addressing policy challenges. The successful consultant will be leading the development and delivery of this work, working closely with a small group of WMCA and Local Authority officers and regional stakeholders, including private and third sector organisations. Stakeholder engagement should involve more than consultation and give partners some degree of authorship over how a datastore would work in practise to create an efficient data sharing platform. In order to access the documents and submit a bid please do so through BravoSolution, the WMCA's e-tendering portal (https://wmca.bravosolution.co.uk). The tender reference is itt_935 and if you are not already registered on BravoSolution it is free and usually only takes a few minutes to do so. This tender is being evaluated on the basis of 70/30 quality/price and please note that the closing date for submissions is 1200 noon on Wednesday 31st March 2021 and if you have any clarification questions the deadline for submitting them is 1200 noon on Monday 29th March 2021.
