Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is led by the Cambridgeshire District Councils for a Cycle to Work Scheme aimed at promoting cycling among employees across South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge City. This project falls under the transport services industry category and is located in the East of England, United Kingdom. The tender period ended on 22nd February 2019, with the contract period running from 18th April 2019 to 3rd March 2022. Although this tender process is now complete, it is noted that the contract was not awarded and will be re-tendered in the future.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the cycle retail and maintenance sectors, especially those offering bicycles and cyclists' safety equipment. Companies that can provide on-going support and maintenance for the scheme will be well-positioned to compete. Businesses focused on sustainable transport solutions or those that align with salary sacrifice schemes could also find advantageous opportunities for growth by participating in the re-tendering process for this initiative.
