Summary of the contracting process

The Bristol City Council is currently in the planning stage of the procurement process for a project titled "Soft Market testing: New Fosseway - Extra Care Homes". This initiative is focused on the health and social work services sector and is located in Hengrove, Bristol, South West England. Interested parties are invited to participate in a soft market testing exercise to gauge the level of market interest in developing approximately 200 extra care apartments, along with 30% affordable housing. The engagement ends on 15th October 2018, and a consultation event is scheduled for 1st November 2018, where the council will outline its plans and potential tendering opportunities.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the housing development and care provision sectors. Companies involved in design, construction, and operation of residential care facilities, as well as those focusing on affordable housing solutions, would be best positioned to respond. The procurement process encourages consortium approaches, allowing different organisations to collaborate on delivering comprehensive solutions. This is an ideal chance for local developers and care providers to expand their portfolios in Bristol, particularly as the council seeks to enhance its housing options for older and disabled adults living in care and support services.
