Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by the Daresbury Laboratory, involves the tender for the supply, delivery, and installation of a 3D printer, identified as UKSBS PR18034. This opportunity falls under the category of office machinery and equipment, specifically addressing the needs of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) located in the South East of the United Kingdom. The tender period concluded on 26th February 2018, and the contract was awarded on 5th March 2018, with a total value of £32,358 and a delivery period from 6th March to 29th March 2018. It is important for interested parties to note that all bids were to be submitted through the designated e-sourcing portal, and not directly to the buyer, as clarified in the tender notice.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses within the technology and manufacturing sectors, particularly those specializing in 3D printing and related equipment. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to participate, given the potential for growth through collaboration with a leading scientific organisation. Companies that can provide innovative solutions and high-quality products will likely find themselves well-positioned to benefit from future contracts with the STFC and associated research projects, which aim to support cutting-edge scientific exploration and innovation.
