Notice Description

The Kent County Council's (the Contracting Authority) Capital Projects Department are looking to procure a two stage Design & Build Principal Contractor via the Principal Contractor's Framework Lot 2 to provide Design & Build Services starting with RIBA stage 2 Concept Design, up to and including RIBA stage 4 and planning application/consultation assistance. The services are required for: - A new 1FE expansion - new two storey build providing visitor centre learning facility, additional general teaching classrooms, additional and replacement science laboratories and preparation space, music suite, removal of T block and N block with reprovision of a toilet block/catering outlet and complete and make good all associated hard and soft landscaping. The need for additional pupil places will be realised in September 2023 all subject to planning. New build 2-storey 1FE school to feature: * 4nr New General Classrooms * 2nr New classrooms from displaced rooms in T Block * 1nr Teaching Storage * 2nr New Science Laboratories * 3nr New Science Laboratories from displaced rooms in T Block * 1nr Science Prep Space * 1nr Chemical Store * 1nr Cleaners Store * 5nr Music Classrooms * 2nr Music Storage * 1nr Extensive Music Classroom * 1nr External PE Store Staff Administration Areas: * 1nr Staff Work Room * 1nr Small Office Demolition of T Block and N Block: * Reinstatement of the external hard standing Miscellaneous: * Visitor Centre Kitchen * Visitor Centre * 1nr Visitor Centre Office * Comms Room * Toilet Facilities
