Summary of the contracting process

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office is inviting tenders for a significant refurbishment project at the British Embassy in Paris, France, specifically for the Chancery Office. This opportunity falls under the construction industry, with a focus on building construction work (CPV code: 45210000). The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with an engagement deadline set for 31 July 2018. A suppliers' day is scheduled for 25 July at the Chancery and for 31 July at King Charles Street, London, where interested parties can learn more about the project. Potential suppliers must express their interest by 18 July 2018.

This tender presents a promising opportunity for construction companies, particularly those experienced in refurbishment projects that comply with UK building regulations, even when executed abroad. The phased nature of this project, which will require parts of the building to remain operational during refurbishment, makes it ideal for firms that specialise in complex alterations and modern workplace design. Businesses engaged in structural work, electrical services replacement, and interior remodelling are especially well-suited to compete for this contract.

Notice Title

British Embasssy Paris, France - Chancery Office Refurbishment

Notice Description

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office wish to invite interested construction companies to tender for a significant opportunity on the Chancery Building of the British Embassy, Rue du Faubourg St-Honore Paris. The project will deliver a refurbished office building that provides modern 21st century working environment for staff. It involves a level of structural alteration to the building, internal remodelling and redecoration throughout and the complete replacement of all electrical services within the building. There is the opportunity for a partial decant of staff, but the project will be phased and elements of the building will need to remain operational at all times during the project. Although being undertaken in France, the project will be expected to substantially comply with UK building regulations. A suppliers day will be held at the Chancery in Paris on Wednesday the 25th of July, and a UK suppliers day at King Charles Street on the 31st of July; each lasting around 90 minutes to discuss elements of the project with the client and Design Team. Please could you send your expression of interest and confirmation of attendees to which event (maximum 2 per supplier) to Alexandra.Chaloner@macegroup.com by the 18/07/2018. The FCO is only seeking interested parties to express an interest to participate in the supplier briefing at this time and non-participation in this event will not be taken into account in any future procurement. This Early Engagement notice is issued solely for the purpose of alerting the market to an anticipated project and is not a call to competition and does not constitute the commencement of the procurement process. For the avoidance of doubt, participation in the market sounding exercise is not a pre-requisite for the future procurement process.
