Summary of the contracting process

Kettering General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a multidisciplinary team to conduct a feasibility study for the Rockingham Wing at Kettering General Hospital, focused on the Family Health Division including obstetrics, gynaecology, and neonatology services. The contract, awarded on 12th March 2021, has a total value of £47,500, with a provision for service delivery spanning from 15th March 2021 to 18th May 2021. This selective procurement methodology involves a direct award against the SBS Consult 18 Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy Framework, classed under Business Development Consultancy Services, and is located in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom. The tender process is now complete.

This project presents a significant opportunity for growth for businesses specialising in consultancy services with experience in healthcare infrastructure. Companies that design, plan, and implement healthcare facilities or those with expertise in remodelling and upgrading hospital services would be particularly well-suited to engage in future projects stemming from this feasibility study. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can leverage this opportunity, given the framework allows smaller firms to compete for consultancy roles in a burgeoning healthcare sector.

Notice Title

Feasability Study Rockingham Wing

Notice Description

Direct Award against SBS Consult 18 Multi Disciplinary Consultancy Framework Lot 1 Rockingham Wing at Kettering General Hospital houses the Women's services aspect of the Family Health Division (obstetrics, gynaecology & neonatology) The building, although has adequate space provision, is not functional for current ways of working and would benefit from a re-planning and remodelling exercise. It would also benefit from an upgrade and refurbishment to bring the environment to modern day standards and expectations. The service is evolving, with more antenatal work and outpatient appointments delivered in the community. Therefore, in addition to addressing the physical state of the building, it is also necessary to review the type and quantity of facilities required to deliver future models of care. To progress the Trust wishes to appoint a multi-disciplinary team to undertake a feasibility study to explore the options for the upgrading of Rockingham Wing at Kettering General Hospital.
