Notice Description

The provider will provide an Autism Assessment and Intervention team aligned to mainstream health and social care. The service will provide a diagnostic pathway for adults suspected of having Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and manage a sub-contract to provide education, training and employment support. This notice, without call for competition, signals the CCG intention to procure the Autism and Diagnostic Service, through a competitive tendering process. The service will provide a diagnostic pathway for adults suspected of having ASD and its Service Objectives will be : * To deliver a diagnostic service for adults (18+) who may have ASD (including Asperger's Syndrome). * To deliver a service for reviewing patients already diagnosed with ASD where an expert review is needed *To deliver a diagnosis to those who may present with ASD behavioural conditions and symptoms *To provide post diagnosis support and brief interventions for adults with ASD *To provide a community focused model that promotes support within the community for people with ASD. *Provide clear pathways and signposting to other local services, and support for adults with an alternative diagnosis to ASD. *Provide an effective transitional pathway to assist young people (with ASD) transfer from children's to adults services. *Assist service users (where a need is identified) to access training and employment opportunities (delivered via a Third Sector organisation) The service will be located in a suitable building within the borough which can be easily accessed by public transport for the majority of Tower Hamlets residents.
