Notice Description

The purpose of this procurement is to procure services of a maritime consultant/advisor to carry out an assessment of navigation/shipping traffic within the Mersey Estuary and Liverpool Bay. The assessment is expected to analyse the historic and current shipping movement into and out of each port within the Mersey Estuary area and develop future projections for shipping traffic levels. The assessment will also require marine traffic modelling of the current ports in the River Mersey and Liverpool bay and an assessment of traffic frequency and patterns, including extent of tidal access and shiphandling simulation to assess the suitability of current designs of navigations locks and gates.
