Summary of the contracting process

The Gloucestershire Health Authority is currently initiating a tender for the "Provision of Improved Access to Primary Medical Services in Gloucestershire." This tender falls under the healthcare services industry and is aimed at enhancing primary care access in a predominantly rural area with a population of approximately 645,000. The procurement process is at the tender stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 23rd July 2018. The contract is valued at £11,100,000 and is expected to commence on 1st April 2019, running until 31st March 2022, with the possibility of a two-year extension. The procurement method is a selective process defined as a restricted procedure above the threshold.

This tender presents significant opportunities for healthcare providers, particularly those experienced in delivering primary care services in collaboration with general practices. Businesses that can adapt models to meet the unique needs of rural populations and demonstrate efficiency in providing improved access to medical services will find this tender particularly beneficial. Companies that can operate effectively within established GP clusters and are responsive to patient needs are well-suited to compete for this contract.

Notice Title

Provision of Improved Access to Primary Medical Services in Gloucestershire

Notice Description

NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (GCCG) is responsible for commissioning Improved Access (IA) to primary medical services. By this PIN GCCG signals its intent to award contracts for these services for 2019-2022 (with an option to extend for a further period of 2-years) to its 76 General Practices (working collaboratively within 14 established GP clusters) and GP membership organisation which comprises all 76 GP providers without further publication, unless expressions of interest are received from alternative economic operators in response to this PIN. Gloucestershire is a mainly rural county with a population of circa 645,000. At present individually designed pilot schemes are being delivered within GP clusters working at scale to provide their population with IA to primary care services. These models are tailored to the needs of their patients & geography. GCCG considers that the GP practices will be most capable of delivering IA to meet the needs of their patients. Please see the attached WORD document for a comprehensive description of the contract opportunity.
