Notice Title
Voice and Data: Moves, Adds and Changes.
Notice Description
The UoN is seeking to appoint a sole contractor to carry out ad-hoc physical and Software based Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC) work to its voice and data cabling infrastructure. It is proposed that this Framework Agreement will operate for up to four years effective from 11th September 2020; the contract will be for an initial period of two years then renewed on an annual basis after year two, dependant on performance and requirements. The successful vendor will be expected to carry out work at all of the UoN's sites as specified in the tender documentation. It is anticipated that the supplier fulfilling this contract will move, install or connect approximately 1,000 telephones and active data ports in the first year of this contract. It has been the trend for some time for the volume of moves and changes work to increase year on year, however, this cannot be guaranteed as it depends upon the general activity of the University. Prospective suppliers should note that the July to October period, which coincides with the student's long summer vacation, is a particularly busy period for moves and changes work. The successful vendor will play a significant role in supporting the Networks Operations Team with the cabling (and related) elements of its project activities. A basic knowledge of IP networking, wireless communications and VOIP telephony would therefore be desirable.
