Summary of the contracting process

Leeds Trinity University has initiated a tender process for the "Access Control Upgrade 2019", aimed at enhancing the security of its main buildings. The tender is classified under the "Access control system" category and is part of a procurement method termed "limited" through competitive quotation, which is below the threshold. The invitation to tender opened on 4th July 2019, and the deadline for submissions is set for noon on 22nd July 2019. Selected contractors will commence the contract period starting on 29th July 2019, lasting until 1st September 2019. Interested parties must comply with specific security standards and are advised to attend a site survey slated for 11th July 2019.

This tender presents promising opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialised in access control systems, specifically those with a proven agreement to supply and support Paxton equipment. Businesses that can demonstrate expertise and compliance with relevant British security standards, as well as an ability to manage transitions from existing systems, will be well-positioned to compete. Given the university's requirement for a detailed itemised submission for various sites, firms with capabilities in project specification, system installation, and ongoing support services would find this tender particularly relevant for growth.
