Summary of the contracting process

The Department for International Development (DFID) is planning a tender for an "Urban Sanitation" project aimed at improving sanitation services for poor communities. This initiative falls under the Foreign economic-aid-related services category and will take place in various locations, including British Overseas Territories and the United Kingdom. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, with a future notice anticipated on 28th April 2017. The budget for this project is set at £50,000 and the contract period is expected to commence on 30th November 2017 and conclude by 29th November 2019.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in sanitation, water supply, and hygiene services. Companies that specialise in innovative sanitation solutions, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), will find this initiative aligns well with their capabilities. Engaging with this project could not only enhance their market reach but also contribute positively to social outcomes by providing essential services to underprivileged urban populations.
