Intensive, ongoing support is then provided to help sustain accommodation, and provide a foundation from which other issues may be addressed. The West Midlands Combined Authority has recently been awarded Housing First Pilot status by the Department for Communities and Local Government. To accompany the pilot status the West Midlands has been awarded an additional PS9.6m in funding to implement the Housing First approach. The pilot will run for 3 years with a further two years of legacy support.
