Summary of the contracting process

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has completed a tender process for the provision of Microsoft Enterprise Subscription Agreement and Software Asset Management Services. This contract, valued at approximately £5,268,493.92, falls under the IT software package category and spans from 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2023. The procurement was conducted through a competitive procedure with negotiation, with the tender period concluding on 1st July 2020. The contract is based in Norwich, United Kingdom, and aims to enhance the Authority's existing software capabilities, particularly in upgrading from Microsoft Office 2010 which is reaching its end of life.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those offering software subscriptions and asset management solutions. Companies equipped with the expertise in handling Microsoft products and those capable of managing large-scale software transitions would be well-positioned to compete. As this is a selective procurement method, suppliers with prior experience and strong credentials in providing such services will likely find this contract to be a vital pathway for growth within the healthcare sector.

Notice Title

Bytes Software Services - Microsoft Enterprise Subscription Agreement and Software Asset Management Services

Notice Description

The O365 platform provides the Authority's main E-mail and Teams platforms along with associated services. The Authority is not expecting the core functionality of these platforms to dramatically change as a result of any new agreement. In addition to the expected renewal of the agreement there is a requirement to uplift our existing Office 2010 estate to a more modern version. Microsoft Office 2010 is scheduled to be classed as End of Life (EOL) as of 13th October 2020. The Authority has been engaged recently with national teams from NHS Digital (NHSD) around a new national agreement, come MOU, between Microsoft and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) called N365. This has opened up options to products and SKU's previously unused by the Authority. The Authority is seeking the provision of a Microsoft Enterprise Subscription for a period of three (3) years from 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2023.
