Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by the Satellite Applications Catapult, involves the tender titled "RFP-FY-22-52 Temporary Workshops" for constructing temporary workshop buildings to support the testing of innovative aviation technologies, specifically focused on drones and urban air mobility. The procurement is at the award stage and relates to the industry category of building materials, with a total contract value of approximately £313,963.37. The contract period spans from 6th December 2021 to 4th March 2022, with the tender period having ended on 26th November 2021. The workshops are to be erected at Westcott Venture Park, located in the South East of England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in construction, particularly those specialising in modular and temporary buildings, as it requires the erection of four workshop structures. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with experience in supplying building materials and construction services would be well-suited to compete, especially those that can offer a fast turnaround and comply with the specific design requirements outlined in the tender, such as structural design and high-quality materials. In addition to construction firms, businesses providing industrial construction materials and insulation materials are also encouraged to participate in this contract opportunity.
