Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Health Education England, which is seeking providers for the "Provision of Independent Prescribing Training for Pharmacists" project. This tender is classified under education and training services and is open for suppliers to submit bids until 23 May 2022. The successful contractor will provide up to 3,011 accredited independent prescribing course places for pharmacists across England, starting from 1 September 2022 and concluding the initial contract period on 31 March 2023, with an option for a one-year extension.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for educational institutions and training organisations specialised in pharmacy and healthcare education. Businesses that can deliver accredited training programmes for healthcare professionals, particularly those focusing on pharmacist development in primary care, would be well-suited to compete. The scale of the contract and the potential for additional activity in subsequent years make this an attractive proposition for organisations looking to enhance their service offerings in the healthcare training sector.
