Notice Description

The University of Birmingham is planning to recruit a number of apprentices over the next 3 years in support of the University strategy to develop local talent and support entry points into the University talent pipeline. In addition the University will utilise apprenticeship training for existing staff where a role clearly meets the definition of an apprentice. The University wishes to use the Apprenticeship Levy paid by it to discharge eligible training costs charged by the Training Provider, and by other training providers, in connection with apprenticeship training provided to: * Employees currently employed by the University; and * Employees to be recruited by the University to commence employment May 2019 and thereafter. (in each case "Apprentices") undertaking Apprenticeship Frameworks and Standards normally at Apprenticeship Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. The University intends (but for the avoidance of doubt shall not be obligated) to procure the supply of apprenticeship training services in connection with the following areas ("the Disciplines"): * Applied Science and non-Engineering Technicians; * Maintenance and Engineering Science Technicians; * IT; * Hospitality and Accommodation services (non-administrative); and * Business administration, customer services and related standards. from the date of this letter until 30 April 2022 ("the Term"). The University may, by serving written notice on the Training Provider on or before 30 October 2021 extend the Term until 30 April 2023.
