Mentoring and Care Leavers Forum Service

Notice Description

The Council requires the Service Provider to provide a mentoring service for looked after children, and care leavers aged between 16 and 28, providing continuity of support to care leavers as they cease to be the statutory responsibility of the local authority. The mentoring may take place individually or in small groups. (Under the current arrangements, a worker is employed for 35 hours per week for this aspect of the contract). 2.2 The Council further requires recruitment and support for one former care leaver to facilitate the Stockport Care Leaver Forum, to represent the voice of Stockport care leavers, or those now living in Stockport, and to work closely with Stockport Council Participation Team. For reference, the forum has recently be renamed "Have your Say". The forum worker will also attend quarterly residential and 16+ provider forums set up by the Council. The recruited forum worker will received all necessary support and mentoring in order to deliver this role. (Under the current arrangements, a worker is employed for 8 hours per week for this aspect of the contract).
